About Me

I am Roxanne!

I am a 21-year-old vegetarian, INTJ, enneagram type 1. In May 2012, I graduated with a bachelor of science in criminology and criminal justice, with minors in social work and family studies. I currently work as a domestic violence advocate and outreach coordinator in Phoenix, Arizona. In May 2013, I began an accelerated masters degree in education, with specialization in human relations. I will finish school [forever!] in May 2014, aged 22. I can’t wait.

Personality wise, I’m a wise-cracking pain in the butt. I have two modes: sarcastic and passive. I’m the type of person who will never leave my apartment unless dragged by the hand. Introverted, essentially. I’m a people-pleaser and altruistic spirit who is easily irritated. My end-all goal is to help vulnerable populations improve their circumstances. I am blissfully aware that I’ll never be monetarily rich, but only rich in simple pleasures. I have a soft spot for kids. As you can guess, I am pretty childish myself.

My hobbies include writing, reading, researching, cooking, soccer, old video games, and analyzing things. I loathe politics, aggression, irresponsibility, olives, and slut-shaming. I would love to travel to Europe, the Middle East, and various areas all over South America. Lilacs, azaleas, and tulips are my favorite flowers. Cerulean, forest green, and lilac are my favorite colors. I collect movie tickets and condoms for fun.

In the last six months, I’ve obtained two jobs in my field, bought a new car, moved into my apartment, and adopted a rabbit! My goals right now are to get in five hours of exercise a week, survive grad school, and become more comfortable giving community workshops. Oh, and I’ve finally paid off my library fines after 3 years, so my next great reprieve is to read at least 30 books in the next year.

I’ve had some great adventures in my life. Like the one time I decided to go through Ramadan, or when I worked at a non-profit as an ABA therapist by shadowing an autistic boy through a YMCA camp. Hell, I even spent my last year of college working with domestic violence and sexual assault victims. Last fall, I enjoyed making all sorts of stuff with my Magic Bullet! And now? Well, let’s just say, I’m in for a great year.

Let’s be friends!
