I was in a dispute with my father over mechanic issues and was angry that he kept shaming my job (I’m a soon-to-be domestic violence shelter advocate) and I told him his job was less meaningful because he doesn’t help people like me and my mom do (she’s an educational counselor). Then, he maliciously tells me he harassed a homeless man sitting outside of the store he manages today and that he lied to the man, telling him he there was food for him behind the dumpster to get rid of him. Of course, my father proceeds to ramble that homeless people are worthless and that I’m working with lowest of the low. FOR CHRIST’S SAKE. I’m going to be working at a DOMESTIC VIOLENCE shelter, which is a totally different type of shelter. And seriously, I’m beginning to loathe business and retail-oriented people, because there is more to life than $.
